#StartupSouth started in 2015 to help connect, educate and attract investment to startups and founders in the South-South and South-East of Nigeria. Africa generally doesn’t have enough support and incentives for Startups but even the few that exist do not move beyond established cities like Lagos and then Abuja.
So Startupsouth was created to engender development in the south-east and south-south regions by encouraging and supporting the founding of high growth businesses especially by young people
It’s a startup community project for everyone in any sector who desires to build a viable and scalable business whether leveraging tech or not
#startupsouth usually organise a conference annually. So that people all over the south-east and south-south regions can converge and have the opportunity to share ideas and network
#StartupSouth4, like every other #StartupSouth conference, has been scheduled to hold this year in the beautiful city of Owerri, Imo state on the 2nd of November
We are expecting over Two Thousand people with almost One Thousand registration already. Aside Keynotes, Panels, Fireside Chats and Startup Pitches, there’d be Hackathon and Special After Party at Oguta.
Guests will also have the opportunity to experience some aquatic relaxation and boat cruise on the famous Oguta Lake.
Startupsouth usually invites top and influential people all over Nigeria to the conference to cover several panel sessions where people have the opportunity to learn how to create and develop high growth businesses
Also, there’s an opportunity for people to pitch their business idea to attract investment from investors present on that day
And the great thing about all these is that it is completely FREE of charge.
There is no charge whatsoever attached to the conference
#Startupsouth is dedicated and committed to supporting and encouraging startups and also developing the potentials of her teeming youths.
And this mission is achieved by creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem where everyone can benefit in so many ways
We are expecting great and influential people and businessmen/women this year such as Jason Njoku ( CEO of Iroko tv), Judith Okonkwo (CEO of Imsi 3D), Bosun Tijani and so much more ( will share the full list later)
Seriously this is an opportunity that I don’t advise anybody to miss
